Lemonade!

Lemonade

Sure, it’s simple, but I’d never made it before, and making it in concentrate form makes it easier to keep in our crowded fridge. Plus it’s impressive to bring out a pitcher of lemonade you made all by yourself, particularly if your friends think the kitchen is the room where you store the refrigerator and the booze.

Lemonade Concentrate, adapted from Simply Recipes

1 c. lemon juice (took me 8 1/2 lemons)
1 c. water
3/4 c. sugar

Juice lemons. Put sugar and water in a pot; bring the mix to a boil and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved.  Mix the syrup and the juice and store the resulting concentrate in the fridge.

To serve, pour concentrate over a couplethree ice cubes and add water to taste. The ratio the Cleverly Named household finds cromulent is about 1/3 concentrate to 2/3 water.
